La Vie Boheme!!! Rent is about finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent has become a pop cultural phenomenon that shaped a generation of audiences and taught us all to measure our life in love.
A rock musical that follows a group of struggling artists and musicians in New York City's East Village during the height of the AIDS epidemic, Rent’s story centers around Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, and his roommate Roger, a musician who is HIV-positive, as they navigate their relationships and artistic pursuits amidst the challenges of poverty, illness, and loss.
The show features memorable songs such as Seasons of Love, La Vie Boheme, and Out Tonight, and explores themes of love, friendship, creativity, and social justice.
Featuring a talented local cast and crew, Rent is produced by Orpheus Theatre and is directed by Christian C. Shaefer with Music Director/Co-Director, Sarah Cohea, Choreography by Trevor Jones and Stage Management by Kate Simeon.
Live performances May 12th & 13th at 7:30 and May 14th at 3 PM with reserved seating at the Bettiol Theatre of the Foothills Performing Arts Center on Market Street in Oneonta. Purchase the best seats available online up until 4 hours prior to each show. Adults: $20, Seniors (65+): $15, Students (17 and under): $10. Tickets will also be available at the door starting 1 hour prior to showtime. Cash, credit, and checks accepted. Admittance will cease 3 minutes prior to each show to allow audiences to get to their seats before the curtain goes up.
